It was built by the monarchy, but it has gone on to be destroyed by fire and explosion of bombs on more than one occasion. It used to hold some of the greatest operas of that time, and today, too it is visited by thousands, after its reopening following renovation and expansion in the year 1999.
- Palau de la Música Catalana - Built in the modernisme style of architecture by Lluís Domènech i Montaner, this is a world famous concert hall. Almost half a million people go to this place to see live musical concerts which hare of numerous genres such as symphonic, chamber, jazz and Canço.
